Six-Figure Campaign Underscores U.S. Shipyards’ Capacity to Build and Repair the Domestic Fleet in America
WASHINGTON – The Shipbuilders Council of America (SCA), the national association representing the U.S. shipbuilding, maintenance, and repair industry, today launched a new ad campaign – “We Stand Ready” – to highlight the capacity and commitment of America’s shipyards and workforce to build and repair the next generation of vessels right here in the United States. The ad campaign will run on cable television, digital platforms, and streaming services in Washington, D.C.
The ad campaign comes in response to President Trump’s creation of the White House Office of Shipbuilding and his Executive Order on Restoring America’s Maritime Dominance.
“This is our moment. America can’t wait,” the ad proclaims. “Our shipyards stand ready — ready to build the fleet of the future.”
With China rapidly expanding its shipbuilding capacity, now producing more than half of the world’s ships, the urgency for the United States to reinvest in its own maritime industrial base has never been greater. The videos for this ad were collected from SCA member shipyards from across the nation, showcasing the scale, skill, and readiness of American shipbuilders.
“America’s shipyards have the proven capability, workforce, and determination to build the fleet our nation needs,” said President of the Shipbuilders Council of America, Matt Paxton. “This campaign is a call to action for policymakers and the public to recognize that we don’t need to look abroad. We have the tools, the talent, and the will to build and repair right here at home.”
From welders on the ground to massive dry docks, the “We Stand Ready” campaign highlights that American shipyards already possess the infrastructure, workforce, and expertise to meet this moment and that we should invest in American workers, not foreign shipyards
As the global shipbuilding race intensifies, the ad urges policymakers to support domestic shipbuilding efforts, ensuring the U.S. can continue to compete strategically and economically on the world stage.
